marigold salve

marigold salve

Marigold and Calendula. Are they the same thing? Short answer is nope.

They are both members of the Asteraceae family, but members of different genus groups.

Marigolds have about 50 species! And

Calendula have about 20, a tad smaller genus.

Both have huge benefits to a wide array of skin conditions!

Plus. Homemade is cool.

Grab some marigolds.

* I dehydrate mine.

Then place in olive oil/sunflower oil.

Infuse for about 4 weeks!

Free counter decor. You’re welcome.

Okay! Now its been 4 weeks! I make about 4-5 ounce tins, but you can make as large of a salve tin as you want!

Let's walk through how to make the salve. You will be thrilled with how simple it is.

I use: The infused oil, shea butter, and beeswax. The end.

Grab about one cup of your Marigold Oil, about 4 tablespoons of shea buttter, and 9 ounces of beeswax.

You will melt shea butter and beeswax i a double boiler and then almost melted through I add the Marigold oil.

Have your tins ready, and once all melted together, pour into your tins leaving a tiny headspace.

Once the salve has cooled it is ready to use!!
