Sourdough Pancakes (or waffles)

Sourdough Pancakes (or waffles)

I'll make this quick and simple. Because it is! We make these weekly, store them in the fridge or freeze them for later! Double or triple the recipe for more putting away!

I make this with fed starter or discard. BOTH will work just the same. The only difference is- the more "fed/active" the starter is- the fluffier your pancakes will be. The taste is the same.

What you need:

  • One cup of starter or discard
  • One cup of milk
  • 1.5-1.75 cups of flour
  • 1 teaspoon baking powder
  • 2 teaspoon baking soda
  • Heavy dash of vanilla
  • 2 large eggs

Whisk it up and bake on your griddle or in a pan! This is the same recipe we use for waffles too!

This makes 8 ish decent size pancakes.

From start to finish you are looking at about 15 minutes. So, ditch the box pancake mix and just do this. Trust me. :)

The sourdough discard pancake recipe was a big fat “no” in my house. First off, the recipe is missing salt. But the flavor of the discard was just all wrong for a pancake in my opinion. I will try another recipe for sure.
