Sourdough Tortillas

Sourdough Tortillas / Active or Discard

Wild Oak Farms

These have become a staple in our kitchen. Sourdough tortillas.

Homemade tortillas are less expensive and taste so much better than store bought, something we could argue for most food!

And they take little to no time to prepare!

You’ll need:

1.5 cups flour

1/2 cup sourdough discard (you can use fed or active)

1/3 cup water

1/4 cup of cubed cold butter

Heavy dash of salt

What you’ll do:

Mix it just like a pie crust. Knead in the cold butter. Portion out. Roll to shape.

Cook on a HOT and DRY cast iron for about 60 seconds on each side or until brown and bubbling.

**These freeze SO well! So make extra! Take them out of the freezer and let them thaw on the counter for about an hour or just warm them in the microwave for 20 seconds if you want.

*You can make these with gluten-free sourdough discard and flour

** You can make these without sourdough, just add water in it’s place
